Driving (approximate distances and times):
From Inverness, 3 1/4 hours (132 miles)
From Kyle of Lochalsh, 1 1/4 hours (55 miles)
Head up the main (A87) road north from Skye Bridge until you reach the Sligachan Hotel at Sligachan and turn left to the north west onto the A832. This will take you up along the lovely sea lochs and sea through Bracadale and eventually to Dunvegan.
Before driving into the town itself, take the left turn (B884) to Glendale. The road proceeds up along the shores of Loch Dunvegan through Skinidin and the Three Chimneys restaurant at Colbost before turning inland over the hills towards Glendale. Drive straight through Glendale, past the Post Office/Store and the Teahouse.
Continue for about another three miles, avoiding going straight on towards Ramasaig when the road suddenly takes a sharp right. Then, over the hills a little more and at the beginning of Mliovaig take the left turn (by Carters Rest B&B) signposted Neist Point. Take the next right by a bus shelter (hidden as you approach by the bend) and after about 350 metres the entrance to Hill Cottage drive is just past a red public telephone box and on the left.
